just in case you are serious about receiving an explanation for the astronaut – that that one has been clearly added after a restoration, probably to replace a missing original figurine.
ReplyDeleteYou can see the proof in the color of the marble (the astronaut part is lighter than the one above) and in the state of conservation of the phytomorphic decoration (erosed on the original stones, fresh and new in the other one).
Keep up posting more spectacular pictures! I really appreciate the research you do. I'm a keen photographer and I find a lot of inspiraion in your posts.
